FIRST OF HEARTS: SELECTED LETTERS OF MRS. HENRY ADAMS went on sale through various outlets in January 2012. The collected letters of this witty observer of the political scene in Washington, D.C. boasts an equally witty and graceful introduction by Cokie Roberts, a three-time Emmy Award winner.
Cokie and Max Byrd, co-publisher of Willowbank Books, talked about FIRST OF HEARTS in a program at the National Archives in Washington, D.C. on January 17. The audience of about 150 people enjoyed the give and take between Max and Cokie; they discussed politics, Congress then and now, and women in politics, then the pair engaged in a lively question session afterward.
Cokie appeared on the nationally syndicated Morning Joe show with Joe Scarborough on February 8 discussing FIRST OF HEARTS and how Clover Adams could have been describing Washington today.
Richard Herman's THE PEACEMAKERS is now available and it could not be more timely. An action and morality story set in today's violent Sudan, it has all of the rich storytelling and drama his readers, like former President Bill Clinton, find gripping and thought provoking.
Former United Nations Ambassador John Bolton was also strongly impressed with Richard Herman's first Willowbank book, A FAR JUSTICE.
Another Willowbank first novel, WEATHERBEE'S GOLD by Preston Wood was reviewed by Charles Post for Amazon who wrote of it:
"Passage of boy to man. Goldfields, sex, guns, friendship, evil challenged, ambitions transformed, character created and revealed. A fast, enjoyable read, filled with memorable characters and events. Mr. Wood's experience as a television writer is plainly evident; the dialog is witty and fast moving, and the story moves from scene to scene with confidence and skill."
